Babayan Zaruhi was born in 1975, in Yerevan, Armenia.
Her path of singing art started in 1987 in the Jazz-pop choir of the H. Igityan Aesthetic Centre, in which she participated as a soloist in many contest-festivals and won the best prizes.
1992-1997 she studied and graduated from the Biological Faculty of the State Pedagogical University named after Kh. Abovyan.
2000-2003 she studied and graduated from the Jazz Faculty of the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan.
Since 1993, she has been working as a soloist in the State Song Theatre.
Since 1994, she had a combined job of a group leader of “Vaghordyan Katilner” and “Jazzle” teenage variety groups of the Aesthetic Centre.
Since 1995, she has been having solo concerts in the State Song Theatre and she had a touring concert in USA, England, Russia and all the regions of Armenia.
In 2000, she won the first prize of the Lyric Genre in the “Sayat-Nova” contest.
In 2001, she won the “Best Folk Song Refinement” for the song “Shalakho” in the “Krunk” Festival.
In 2001, she released her first album “Chanaparh Depi” (“The road to”), which includes folk and variety songs.
In 2002, she was recognized the Best Singer of the year in the “American Music Awards”. The same year, the “Chanaparh Depi” (“The road to”), album was recognized the Best in the pop-folk category.
In 2003, she had solo concerts in Lebanon, Germany and England.
In 2004, she won the first prize in “Stars Dancing” international contest.
In 2005, she participated in the “Hayuhiner” program in the USA, in which old loved folk songs were fully sounded.
In 2005, her first big solo concert has taken place with the participation of the State Jazz Orchestra and the “Pari yev Hogu” (“Dance and Soul”) Theatre of Sofi Devoyan in the Opera and Ballet Academic Theatre named after Al. Spendiaryan.
In 2006, her second album “Hin u Nor” (“Old and New”) was released in CD and DVD versions.
In 2009, she has founded a song studio, where 5-12 years old children study.
In 2011, she had performed in the concerts dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the independence of Armenia in Armenia, Russia and the USA.
In 2012, her 3rd album was released, named “Sirelis” (“My darling”).
Since 2012 September, she is realizing the charitable program “Zaruhi Babayan Banaki Koghkin” (“Zaruhi Babayan Beside the Army”) with the support of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and with the support of Seyran Ohanyan, the Minister of Defense. Within the frame of the program, a music video has been filmed based on the “Govk Fidayun” (“A praise to Fidayi”) song of Robert Abrahamyan, which is dedicated to the anniversary of the Armenian Army formation.
Since October, she has performed concert projects within the circles of the program in the military units of the RA Armed forces and the Defense Army.
In 2012, Babayan Zaruhi was awarded a memorial medal of the Defense army by the Lieutenant General Hakobyan Movses, commander of the Nagorno-Kharabakh Defense Army.
Since 2013, she is known as a national follower of the UN’s Refugee Agency.
In 2014 President S. Sargsyan awarded and honored with the title of Honored Artist.
From 2015 to 2019 she gave concerts in Armenia, Artsakh, Australia, United States, Russia, Kuwait, Sweden, Netherlands, Lebanon.
In 2016 she was the “Renaissance” International Competition Jury Member.
Starting from 2016 she has been working as a TV host
From 2016 to 2019 she had many premiere songs and video clips: "Kilikia", "Erazanqs Katarvets", "Baghti Nver", "Te Achqers Qez Voronen" "Hayi Achqer", "Dzyun", "Aghjkas".
